My brother is never my enemy

John Mumford is the National Director of the Vineyard and is an enormous encouragement to many of us. This is both moving and thought-provoking.

This resonates deeply with my own feelings towards the Church. Coming from a long history of varied church traditions, I have formed over the years a general love for the Church (big C on purpose) and what God is doing through the many incarnations of his body in the world. It is a travesty that differences of opinion and tradition keep us from recognising the beauty that comes from 'dwelling in unity' - together as living stones, all part of the same wall but all different. If only we would all adopt this phrase - 'my brother is never my enemy' - as a sort of mantra to keep us loving our brothers, maybe the world would truly see that we are his disciples.
