Orombi at New Wine Leaders

I am enjoying seeing some old friends and am being blessed and encouraged.

Henry Orombi the highlight thus far preaching on Elijah. He is a prophetic and bold leader and leads 9.2m Anglicans in Uganda (as well as his influence over the global church).

"People kind of lean on me-should I fall how many will fall with me? Who leans on you and should you fall how many will fall with you?"

"Make your role model someone who is difficult to follow"

"Unpopularity will mark the men and women of God"

1. Teach and preach the gospel
2. Do acts of kindness-feed the dying world
3. Heal the wounded

Also listening to Carl Medearis author of Christians, Muslims and Jesus and Jean Darnell.

Perhaps you'd care to ask ++Orombi why he feels attending New Wine is more important than attending the Joint Standing Committee (on which he is the African primatial representative and has never attended) and Anglican Consultative Council (to which he has also failed to organise appropriate clerical and episcopal representatives to attend) meetings in Jamaica, at which the Anglican Covenant is being discussed? And yet he has the gall to instruct others on leadership? Ha!

Your normal 'anonymous' poster may have to start leaving a sudonym if others are going to start leaving serious rather than flippant comments!
Still, at least Cookie you'll guess that this one doesn't even understand words like 'episcopal' 'primatial' etc.

You need to get some anger management

I rarely have comments and even less the need to offer mediation on the things that I write.

Firstly, I am not aware of what the Archbishop should or should not be doing but he struck me as a man of great integrity, insight, and passion for Jesus. Between 500-1000 leaders were gathered at New Wine and he imparted faith and vision to many involved in the front line of ministry in the local church. One Church leader of one of the largest Anglican Churches in England said that his talk in the afternoon was one of the best he had heard. I missed it so will listen on CD and report.

I cannot say if his time would have been better spent on the Joint Standing Committee. He inspired me (and many others) to lead better and I suppose we must all chose those to whom we look for Godly leadership and vision. We will perhaps inevitably all look to different people and have a variety of views on what it means to lead well.
