Difficult life?

One of the best first lines of any book is from 'The road less travelled' which simply reads:

'Life is difficult.'

Today, I came across a quote that complements this thought and I will leave it for you to ponder:

'Everything difficult indicates something more than our theory of life yet embraces'

[George MacDonald: an Anthology, ed C. S Lewis, Page 49]
